About Cathie Childs

Cathie received her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature at U.C.L.A., and Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School Law School, Los Angeles.  She is admitted to practice in California and Texas.

Cathie is a former Deputy County Counsel for the County of Humboldt, Senior Assistant City Attorney for the City of Austin and other Texas municipalities, Deputy Counsel for the Austin Housing Finance Corporation, and National Coordinating Coverage Counsel for 2 Fortune 500 insurance / reinsurance groups regarding  environmental property damage, toxic tort and latent injury claims, from tender through resolution.  She also has served as an administrative law hearing officer in various California counties.

Cathie has extensive experience handling litigation and transactional matters dealing with business formation, corporate transactions, fine art, cultural arts events, affordable housing transactions including real estate acquisition & development, economic development programs and agreements, social service contracts, agreements between governmental agencies, public/private partnerships and estate / business succession planning.

in her spare time, Cathie volunteers with several cultural organizations, and enjoys hikes with her dog in the Redwood forests and the coastal lands of the Wiyot and Yurok people, to whom she is grateful.

Cathie is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th and 9th Circuits, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas and the Northern & Central Districts of California.
